The anti-diabetic activities of natural sweetener plant Stevia: an updated review

Abstract Diabetes mellitus is one of the key metabolic diseases cause due to defects in secretion insulin, insulin resistance peripheral tissues, or both. Plants remained an important source nutrition as well medicine. Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni high qualities non-caloric sugar substitute sweetener plants against diabetes disease. The compounds like steviol, rebaudioside A, stevioside, etc . can lower level many fold. In addition, it decreases oxidative stress, hence reduces risk diabetes. Its leaves have been used for control and treatment other diseases. animal model experiments blood promotes liver kidney functions. this review, we highlighted most recent literature on safe use diabetes, its a functional food, mode therapeutic action different experiments.
